about

My path to yoga
It all began when I was five years old, one day a gentleman and a lady arrived to the kindergarten. They visited our gymnast session and than they looked at my body and said: would you like to be a gymnast? Shortly after, I found myself in a gymnasium with girls of a similar age, and that’s how my gymnastics journey started. Was a long journey, but it still influences me to this days.
My daily routin has transformed in the blink of an eye. I spent all my time in the gym. Monday to Friday was filled with training sessions, and weekends with competitions. It was a tough and strict lifestyle, with lot of crying and struggle. I worked hard every day to achive my goals. Weekdays were followed by summer training camps, selection competitions, constant measurements, to achieving different levels beyond what was expected. However, I have improved a lot, both individually and as a team member.
After 9 years in competitive sports, I had body awareness, self-discipline, strength, endurance and all the joys of free movement.

Yoga is about achieving absolute balance, penetrating clarity and inexhaustible vitality. That's how you'll be really pointful.

What happened to my body
I suffered from physical symptoms resulting from the demands of competitive sports… overextended joints, painful joint wear and tear. Unfortunately, back then, no one paid attention to how far we could push our bodies, the limits of healthy boundaries, or the “good” pain that allows you to get back up.
The focus was on the body and achieving maximum performance without regard for anything else. After giving birth to my child, I walked into a yoga studio with this unperfect body. At first, everything seemed easy and effortless. I enjoyed the fact that I could do it all the asanas, because I was naturally flexible. However, I soon met my teacher, who explained to me that with my overextended joints, my journey would be much more challenging than those who work on increasing their flexibility and gradually reach a certain state in their asana practice. For me, it meant retracing my steps and learning not to overextend my knees, elbows, or flail my limbs or attempt extreme contortions.
I began to learn how to manage my body, to observe what is too much for me, and where I find the “good pain” versus what harms me in the short and long term. I gained body awareness and started paying attention to what happens inside me. I LEARNED ABOUT MYSELF!
My journey started from the outside and than I moved inward.

What bends, doesn't brake
During my classes, armed with this life experience, I observe each body with care. I particularly emphasize the exploration and development of body awareness to correct long-established postural habits and incorrect limb positions, and guide them towards the right direction. What the body has grown accustomed to over many years, it can also unlearn with our attention and patience.
Through perseverance, setting the right direction, step by step, and dedicated work, we can easily let go of incorrect postures, allowing the body to breathe a sigh of relief and prevent further deterioration. As long as we can get out of bed, move our spine flexibly, and experience pain-free movement, the flow in our lives continues.

"Yoga had been on my mind for a long time, but I felt that I wouldn't find the necessary focus and tranquility in a group session. From the very first class with Kriszta, everything flowed naturally, creating an atmosphere that made the initially unknown situation comfortable from the very beginning. She always starts by considering my state of being and guides me through a process that suits me. The background elements, such as music and scents, further assist in disconnecting from the rush of everyday life. I can't imagine practicing yoga under any other circumstances."
